August Schwer Cuckoo Clockmakers
The August Schwer cuckoo clock factory has been making high quality black forest cuckoo clocks since 1885 at their manufacturing facility in Schoenwald. The family business remained in the Schwer family until year 2000 when it was bought by one of its employees. The quality of the August Schwer clocks has however remained at a premium standard, and each of their clocks is VdS certified by the Black Forest Clock Association.
August Schwer has become one of the most popular clock factories of the Black Forest, and is well worth the visit if you are travelling through the area, as they have a showroom and store setup in front of the factory where the clockmakers work on and assemble each cuckoo clock.
